This year's Symposium on Minimal Residual Cancer will take place in Athens, Greece. MMI is proud to co-present the latest work of Rikshospitalet-Radiumhospitalet Medical Center, Oslo, Norway.
The molecular analysis of single cells from patient material is of increasing interest in cellular diagnostics and patient profiling and is a prerequisite for tailoring treatment in cancer personalized medicine. The CellEctor (MMI, Glattbrugg, Switzerland) is an automated instrument for recognition and aspiration of single cells under visual control. We established a quick and easy protocol for the isolation and subsequent realtime PCR of single cells without initial RNA amplification. This method is applicable for patient samples, since it is based on a 2-step selection processs that starts with an immunmagnetic cancer cell enrichment step.
