One of the main advantages of mmi Cellcut® is its sophisticated, yet easy to use software.
The high precision, motorised xy-stage is controlled through
computer mouse or keyboard. In addition, an overview allows easy and
fast navigation within the slide. Several positions of the stage can be
stored to make finding of interesting areas more easy.
Drawing tools: For
marking the cutting path, you can choose between free hand drawing and
geometric figures such as circles, squares and ellipses. You can mark
as many objects as you want, over the entire slide area - the objects
will then be cut automatically. You can choose the size of the circles,
squares and ellipses and they can be copied by simple mouse-click

Unlimited number of different groups can be defined for cutting and
later specific set-ups (e.g. camera settings for specific applications)
can be defined and stored.

With every new slide, the software
creates a text and picture file. In the text file, information on the
number and size of the cut-out areas , set-ups, cutting parameters etc
are stored.
Automatically before and after the cutting, a picture
is taken and stored in the picture file. In addition you can take a
snapshot any time. The software allows for time-lagged cutting. I.e.
drawing and cutting need not be done at the same time. With the help of
the save and load contour function, the cutting marks are stored by the
software and reloaded when you are ready for the cutting. You can even
switch-off the system and remove the slide from the microscope. Highlights of the UV Cut® Software
Automatic full slide cap lift As many single cells
or groups of cells can be encircled over the entire slide area in one
step. The cap lift will automatically move over the slide to pick up
the microdissected areas. This results to a significant time saving. Inspection mode The software will automatically move the mmi Isolation Cap® to an empty area in the slide. Thus, the user can inspect the cap and verify that the microdissected areas cling to the lid. Ablation Mode The unique technique involving the mmi Isolation Cap®
allows to selectively burn microdissected areas already clinging to the
lid. With the ablation mode, the user can simply mark undesired areas
which are already microdissected, the laser will then automatically
burn these areas. Modular design The software is designed in a modular way allowing upgrades with other MMI products easily and at any time.
