Customer Testimonials
Our customers include worldwide renowned universities, hospitals, institutes, laboratories and industry. We collaborate closely with customers, researchers and scientists on site, support them, and learn from their experience to develop bespoke workflows to enable them to rapidly meet their goals. „Here at the DMSZ (research group VirusInteract) it is our special emphasis to analyze the very early events of virus infection in plant tissue. Thus we first identify the initial point of plant virus infection, isolate this area with the MMI CellCut system and subsequently analyze this sample with a multi-omics approach. The MMI CellCut system is elementary for our research because it enables us to select and investigate even single infected plant nuclei. In addition we use the MMI CellEctor to collect protoplasts from liquid media to generate new plants from a single cell.”

“The MMI CellScan supports us in our daily work: this tool documents our tissue sections in high resolution and it fully integrates in our laser microdissection workflow. We especially appreciate that we can annotate directly in the image thus saving hands-on time at the instrument.”

"At Simfo, we are interested in analyzing molecular profile of circulating tumor cells (CTCs), because CTCs reflect the real status of tumor genotypes. CTCs exhibit high heterogeneity within a patient and for this reason we analyze individual CTCs for KRAS, BRAF and EGFR mutations. The MMI CellEctor instrument allows us to precisely select single CTCs from patient samples in order to individually analyze their genomic integrity – an important pre-requisite for our research."
"Our translational cancer research within the Department of Pathology, led by Prof. Godfrey Grech, focuses on particular mechanisms of tumorigenesis for the identification of novel tumour biomarkers and therapeutics. Using a novel approach that utilises a custom-designed technique coupled with Laser Microdissection, we have successfully isolated and measured the RNA expression of specific cell populations from breast cancer tissues to support our investigations of underlying mechanisms.
The MMI CellCut enables us to selectively isolate specific tumour cell populations based on morphology from H&E stained FFPE sections for RNA analysis. Using this methodology, we have isolated distinct malignant clones within heterogeneous tumours as well as microdissected normal breast duct tissue to establish physiological expression levels. Based on gene expression, we classify breast cancer tumours to identify biomarkers towards novel effective therapeutics."

"At our institute at the Norwegian University of Life Science, many groups are using the MMI CellCut system for various projects. Our group is mainly interested in investigating the function a lymphoid tissue located in the gills of salmon. Understanding the underlying immune mechanisms is a precondition for the development of successful fish vaccines. The MMI CellCut laser microdissection system was applied to selectively isolate the recently discovered interbranchial lymphoid tissue (ILT) from salmon gills. Following RNA extraction we investigated the transcript level of immune-relevant genes in both naïve and challenged fish. This approach provided valuable knowledge concerning the functional role of the ILT. In addition to the indispensable functionality of the MMI CellCut, we appreciate the helpful and timely service by the MMI team."

“We appreciate the resistant MMI product quality, the professional consulting, and the competent and quick service. MMI instruments are an important basis for our in-situ analysis in cellular tissue. The MMI CellCut laser microdissection followed by gene expression analysis is complementary for further routine methods like conventional optical microscopy (fluorescence), in-situ hybridization, and immunohistochemistry.”

“The MMI CellManipulator Plus optical tweezer was customized on an upright microscope upon our request. The tweezer has been working reliably, with excellent manipulation power and flexibility on various devices, from simply glass slides to microelectrodes on silicon. The MMI service was also professional, fast and considerate.”
