Our Story

MMI was founded in 1998 by Prof. Dr. Stefan Seeger, building on his earlier scientific and entrepreneurial work. From the beginning, the company focused on turning advanced scientific concepts into practical, high-precision technologies for life science research. Over the years, MMI expanded its portfolio to include optical tweezers systems, laser microdissection tools, and a cell picker for accurate single-cell manipulation and isolation.
A key driver of MMI’s technological innovation is CTO Dr. Stefan Niehren, who leads the development of core technologies and fosters ongoing collaboration with the scientific community to ensure continuous advancement.
